Skin Care and Facials
At The Vanity Vault we offer a wide range of customized facials, catered to your specific skin care concerns. Everyone has different goals for their skin, and we will do a thorough consultation to help us understand exactly what you would like to change about your skin. Our facials are designed to leave you feeling fresh and glowing. We do not focus on harsh peels that have you peeling, flaking and red for days or weeks on end.
Most facials leave you looking gorgeous right out of our door. Glowing and radiant is always the goal! Some treatments can leave the skin slightly pink on the day of your facial, particularly if you have sensitive skin. However, you’ll never leave bright red or in pain.
Most clients will only have very minimal micro-peeling, which is fine light flaking or microscopic shedding, that is hardly visible in the first day or two following their facial. You should never expect painful, irritated skin with heavy peeling. Our goal is to protect the skin as well as the delicate skin barrier. Our facials are designed to support skin health, not traumatize the tissue and create irritation that can make skin conditions worse.
We have facials designed to tackle Acne, Hyperpigmentation, Sun damage, Anti-Aging, fine lines, skin firmness, dull skin and vellus hair. No matter your skin care concern, we have a facial for you!
The most important thing to remember is that we didn’t develop these skin concerns over night, and as such, we cannot fix them over night. While you will see results after every facial, consistency is key to seeing lasting results. No esthetician can remove over a decade of sun damage in one appointment, nor can we erase all the fine lines and or sagging skin with one facial. These common skin concerns happen over many years, and will take time and consistency to see full results.
We can ABSOLUTLEY turn back the clock. We can have you looking years younger, and give your skin a beautiful healthy glow. The sooner you start, the faster we can get you there. All of our facials are going to leave you looking more radiant, fresh and glowing right away.
If you’re wanting a little boost to look great for a party or special event, a facial is a wonderful idea and you’ll certainly see a difference! Just keep in mind that the long term results like reduction in fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and loss of volume will take time. Theres no time like the present to get started.
Time marches on, as they say! Where do you want to be in a year?

FAQs
What is a Photofacial?
A photofacial is non invasive skin treatment that uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to improve your skin’s tone and texture.
What does a Photofacial treat?
Sun damage like brown spots, age spots and freckles. Redness and visible blood vessels from rosacea. In fact, a photofacial is the #1 recommended treat for rosacea! It gives lasting results that visibly improve the redness associated with rosacea. Fine lines. Photofacials trigger new collagen production, which naturally plumps the skin and makes it act as if it did when it was younger.
How does a photofacial work, exactly?
Photofacials work by sending light to the deepest layers of the skin, an area that no topical product can possibly reach. When our skin is young, our cells are tightly packed together, like little soldiers marching in a line. As we age those soldiers turn into kindergarten kids, which don’t stay in line, packed tightly together anymore. This causes fine lines, loss of elasticity, loss of firmness and skin texture issues. Think of the IPL as a drill sergeant, it whips those lazy skin cells into shape, lines them up, and makes them act like they did when our skin was younger. It quite literally turns back the clock. It boosts collagen, plumps the skin, removes sun damage, age spots, redness, fine lies and even helps with break outs and poor skin texture. It gives real, noticeable results that are cumulative, meaning they get better and better with each facial.
Is a photofacial painful?
No, there is very minimal to no discomfort at all.
Can I get a photofacial if I’m pregnant?
No, this service is not available for pregnant or nursing mothers, but have no fear we do have facial options available for our expectant and nursing mothers!
I’m on prescription medication, can I get a photofacial?
You must first check with your healthcare provider to see if your particular medication is safe for a photofacial treatment. Many medications are perfectly safe for a photofacial but if your medication makes you photosensitive, meaning it’s advised that you stay out of the sun, a photofacial is not right for you.
Is there downtime when receiving a photofacial?
Extremely minimal, you may be slightly pink for a few hours. There won’t be peeling, cracking or other issues that cause negative attention. One of the best benefits of a photofacial is that its instant beauty! We love that for our clients!
I’m going on a beach vacation in a week, can I get a photofacial?
No, you need to avoid sun exposure and extreme heat for 2 weeks following your photofacial, otherwise you risk severe burns.
If you are a beach babe or a lake lover in the summer, it’s best to wait until fall/winter for your photofacial. Don’t worry, we do have many facial options for our sun lovers, though no facial is safe with a sunburn. And daily SPF is highly recommended for all clients, year round! No need to avoid the sun like a vampire, just practice “safe sun” and you’re all set for many facial options that we offer!
What skin tones is the photofacial safe for?
Just like the IPL permanent hair removal (same device, different setting) a photofacial is safe for Fitzpatrick types 1-5. Unsure of your Fitzpatrick type, a quick google search can point you in the right direction.
I get botox and fillers, how long to I need to wait after injections before I can get a photofacial?
